Meaning : Reproductive Tissue

System carrier : The Reproductive System

Action : PRAJANANA (GARBHA UTPAADANA or CREATING ANOTHER LIFE) Shukra Dhatu allows us to produce another life. The term “Shukra” stands for “Seed” specifically here the sperm or the ovum in women and all reproductive fluids in general. When it is insufficient, it causes a general lack of creativity in life and specifically, Impotency and Infertility.

It provides Energy, Strength and Stamina for the entire body and upholds the autoimmune function. The reproductive fluid gives light to the eyes and inspiration to the soul.

FOODS

  1. Unhealthy & unbalanced food combinations,
  2. Use of chemical spermicidal,

BODY

  1. Engaging in sexual intercourse in the Mid afternoon or Midnight,
  2. Engaging in sex soon after consuming food
  3. Experiencing couple of orgasms in one night,
  4. Experiencing sex during menses,
  5. Experiencing intense sex while under the influence of intoxicants & drugs,
  6. Experiencing violent sex in unhealthy positions,
  7. Gonorrhoea, Syphilis, or Herpes,
  8. Over indulgence in sexual activity (can also be thought driven),

  6. Unwholesome foods lacking in nutrition,
  7. Inadequate food intake,
  8. Inadequate sleep.

Lifestyle & Dietary factors to favour balance of Dhatu

  1. Practice moderate sexual activity,
  2. Go to bed before 10 pm,
  3. Eat nurturing foods like Dates & Date shakes,
  4. Fresh Fruits  Vegetables,
  5. Fresh Aspharagus 2 – 3 times a week,
  6. Mangoes in the season, Mango Milk shakes,
  7. Fresh steamed Juicy Pears & Apples (steamed for Vata constitutions) at least 3 – 4 times a week.

Treatment Herbs – Ashwagandha + Kapikacchu (Please do not try get into self treatment. Consult an expert Vaidya)

Other Treatments – Foods and herbs that increase the reproductive fluids are Dairy products, Nuts, Eggs & Shellfish. Rejuvenative herbs like Ashwagandha, Shilajit, Bala, & Shatavari can be consumed with benefitial effects. Sexual abstinence can also cure this problem. Sexual supression should not be forced on oneself.

Marma Chikitsa – Guda Anguli ( Around Anus), Kukundara ( On each post.sup. lilac.spine) Marmas can be treated by using specific mantras and using specific oils. treatment methods as per need.

    Can eating those recommended healthy foods replace the sleeping habit. At the back of mind, how about those nocturnal persons who work at night. Is there any replacements to that since they can’t sleep at 10pm. Or is this a case to case basis. Anyway, i found this an interesting topic. Thank you for posting this one. All the best.

      Eating healthy foods and expecting to kick the habit of sleeping late is like expecting a person wearing a white robe for a change to become a saint….. it doesnt work that way.

      Eating healthy foods is a choice and so is sleeping early to be healthy. the old saying early to bed and early to rise makes jack healthy, wealthy and wise holds true here. and if jack were to eat healthier, he would be all the more better in every way.

      Sleeping at 10 is working according to the Biological clock. A case in point are the call centre executives who sleep late as they need to work on the time zones of a company in a distant land. I have had the experience of changing the shift timings of a group of call centre executives who experienced much better health as a result of conforming to the Biological Clock. Therefore, the science is applicable to one and all..

        Very well explained. Thank you and Yes i do agree with you, i’ve had the experience as well of working at night. well, then as per experience my health still good. But then, i have to fight stress at that time.

          Good that your health is ok as of now. Every body constitution has a breaking point. Some people are stronger in their core. But I suggest that you should not be eager to discover your breaking point.

          The body fights to maintain harmony with the Biological clock by keeping the working harmony of its organs with nature. And when it is not able to do so any more, ailments manifest.

          We are driven by nature according to the Biological Clock. Each one of us feel sleepy at out own time zones nearing 9.25-9.45 pm. This is the time when the body wants to unwind and recoup itself to repair damaged cells and help to serve your commands the next day. But if you push it beyond this time, the body is not able to recover itself. Moreover, Acids from the glands (especially the adrenalin glands that secretes lactic acid to provide energy)increase as both and mind and body are agitated. This destroys tissues.

          Also the Liver, Gall Bladder and the Small Intestines secrete acids that enter the blood stream. This goes into circulation and destroys the blood tissue thereby reducing our immunity. Ailments like colds, Allergic sneezing, Running nose, indigestion, Gases in the abdomen as well as obesity (liver becoming weak as a result), skin irritation and rashes (including eczema and psoriasis) are side effects.

      Yes please. Only the type of stones formed and the cause for the same will have to be ascertained through Nadi Pariksha.
